MONEY IN ITALYThe cheapest and fastest way to travel to diverse regions, towns and villages of Italy that is easily accessible to the tourist is by train. You can buy a ticket at any station or at any FS without paying tax.

In addition to standard tickets and the much-publicized Inter Rail (a month's unlimited travel in Europe and Morocco for travelers under the age 26), there are various other special tickets and budget schemes available. However, if you are limiting your train travel within the boundaries of Italy we recommend purchasing point to point tickets which are very economical.

For example traveling from Rome to Florence in second class will cost around $33.00 USD and from Rome to Venice is about $45.00 USD. If plans include more than a few days or multi-stops during your travel, an Italian Rail Pass may be a better value.

Those of you whose Itineraries includes Italy in multi-country tour, may want to consider the Eurail Pass, valid in 17 European Countries or the Euro-Pass, valid in 12 countries.

Sometimes it can be complicated to get from one medium-sized city to another but you can always ask at the Information FS located within the railroad station or better yet get ahead start by checking out train schedule and purchase Rail Tickets on-line.

You'll leave with fond memories that will last a life time.
