Appearing
more like a movie stage setting, stands the church "San
Giorgio Maggiore" on one of the islands of Venice.
The
complex (church and monastery) were built between 1559
- 1580 and is considered one of Palladio's greatest
architectural achievements.

e Saintti by Sebastiano Ricci in 1708.
Within
the church is the painting of Virgin Mary sitting on
the throne holding a child among various saints. It
is considered by many, as one of the most joyous altar
paintings.
