Saint
George slaying the Dragon - By Carpaccio between 1502
- 1508 The representation of this painting is focus
on his strong affixation of the Chivalry. When man were
man, strong and courageous.
Here Carpaccio
represents the fair knight on a dark horse in the act
of piercing, with his long lance, the dragon. The lance
divides and balances the painting. The background concise
of an exotic imaginary scenery which is a trademark
of many of his paintings.
